KIDSWORLD Pastor – Derek Howell
I have lived in San Diego my entire life, living in many different areas but mostly in east county. I graduated from Helix High School in ’99 and went on to SDSU where I joined Alpha Gamma Omego which is a Christian Fraternity. I also attended Grossmont College and Horizon Bible College. Through Alpha Gamma Omega I learned about Indian Hills Camp where I ended up serving at for three summers. At Indian Hills Camp I ran into Greg Baird who I knew from Skyline Church where my mom was one of his volunteers in children’s ministry and I was a child in that ministry. Greg was now working at Jamul Community Church and looking for an intern and the Lord was leading me to work in children’s ministry. So in October of 2002 I became an intern at JCC for the next year. After that year I continued to work part time for many years and now I am full time in a ministry that I love. Through AGO and IHC I also met and grew close to my wife Mandy, we have been married since May 2003. Currently I am attending Bethel Seminary in the InMinistry program for Children and Family Ministry which I will complete in June of 2012. Just recently, Oct. 10, 2011 at 4:06am, my wife and I had our first child born. We are exited to be living our new lives with our son Tyler.
KIDSWORLD Krew – Those serving in this ministry

Also on Sunday’s at 1pm there are three teams of people who serve at New Alternatives (Herrick’s Center). On Wednesday at 1pm people serve at Sonshine Club at Jamacha Elementary School which provides games, snack, Bible lesson and activities for over 100 kids weekly. We also have a club at Jamul Elementary on Monday’s afterschool. Also on Wednesday’s at 6:30 there is KW Midweek “The Journey” for people to serve in Nursery, Preschool and Elementary. Many people serve in the summer at Vacation Bible School and as counselors for our kids at Indian Hills Camp. There are also some people who serve doing administrative tasks in the office or preparing items for our programs. We have a wonderful group of volunteers and would love to have you join us.
